NLSA Prepares to Crown Senior Men’s and Women’s Champions
The top senior men’s and women’s teams in the province will clash in the Jubilee Trophy and Challenge Cup final weekend Thursday, August 6 - Sunday, August 9. Legendary King George V Pitch will host all games.
Championship weekend begins Thursday, August 6 with the Jubilee Trophy semi-finals. The women’s semi-finals will take place at 6pm and 9pm, with the regular season awards and all star team announced at 8:00 pm.
The men’s semi-finals will take place on Friday with games at 6:30 and 9pm. The regular season awards will be presented at 8:00 pm.
A full schedule is below. All games will be live-streamed by X Stream TV NL on the AO.Live pay per view channel (https://ao.live/), with Saturday and Sunday’s games also broadcast for free via Rogers community television.
Jubilee Trophy women’s semi-final (Thursday, August 6)
6:00 pm (1 v 4): Holy Cross Nutra Holdings vs. CBS Strikers
Defending national and provincial champions Holy Cross Nutra Holdings will play CBS Strikers in the 1 v 4 match. Holy Cross were undefeated in the regular season with an 18-0 record. CBS head into the match with a 0-16-2 record.
9:00pm (2 v 3) Paradise v Feildians
Number two ranked Paradise (10-7-1) take on #3 Feildians (6-11-1) in the second semi-final. The winner of each semi-final advances to the gold medal game on Sunday, while the loser will play for third place on Saturday.
Challenge Cup men’s semi-finals (Friday, August 7)
6:30 pm (1 v 4): Holy Cross Kirby Group vs. St. John’s Blue Water Shipping
Defending national and provincial champions Holy Cross Kirby Group (12-0-2) take on St. John’s Blue Water Shipping (6-4-3). Holy Cross won both matches v. the year two St. John’s entry, but with only a point in the difference in both games.
9:00 pm (2 v 3): Feildians Marco vs. Mount Pearl
The 2v3 match features second place Feildians Marco (10-1-3) v #3 Mount Pearl (7-4-2). The winner advances to the gold medal game on Sunday, while the loser will play for third place on Saturday
