Entry Level Referee Courses

Entry Level Referee Course

The Entry Level Referee Course trains participants to be a Referee or an Assistant Referee in 11-a-side soccer.

Participants must be at least 14 years of age.

This year the course is split into 2 components:

  1. On-line program. This is run through Google Classroom. The topics covered focus on the Laws of the Game. Participants work at their own pace through video and workbook material. Help is available on-line from NLSA Referee Instructors.
  2. Practical session. This is a one-day session focused on practical aspects of game management. Most of the session is field-oriented. Participants must have completed the on-line component to attend the Practical session. The final exam for the course occurs at the end of this session.
