Newfoundland and Labrador Prepares to Crown 2024 Challenge Cup Champions

The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) will name its senior men’s champions this week as the Challenge Cup Premier League division holds its semi-finals and finals August 16-18.  All games will be held at the Dianne Whalen Complex in Paradise.

The winner will represent the province at the Toyota National Championships in Surrey, B.C. over the Thanksgiving weekend. A full schedule is below.

Holy Cross men finished first in the regular season with an 18-1-1 record to claim the Bobby Breen award for first place regular season.   They will face fourth place Paradise (6-9-5), who secured their playoff spot in the last game of the regular season with a win over Feildians (10-6-4). 

Feildians, the defending champions, finished second overall and will face third place finishers S’Pairs Optical CBS Strikers (7-7-6) in the 2v3 match.

The league will announce its all-star team and regular season award winners in between Friday’s semi-final matches.

Friday’s winners will advance to the Challenge Cup Championship final 2:00 pm Sunday, August 18.
