Day 3 Results - 2023 Toyota National Championships

Three wins and three losses was the story of Day 3 at the Toyota National Championships in Halifax, Moncton and Waterloo.

Defending Jubilee Trophy national champions Holy Cross Nutraholdings extended their win streak to three, with a 5-0 win over New Brunswick. Emily Bailey had two goals, while Jane Pope, Connie Lewis and Anna Aucoin added one each.  Pope has scored in every game so far this tournament.  Shannon Galway registered the shut out.

The Feildians men moved to a 1-1-1 record with a 2-1 win over PEI. Taj Exley opened the scoring at 10 minutes. Emmanuel Dolo added the second goal.

At the U17 championships in Moncton, NB, the GU17 girls represented by St. John’s Soccer Club, continued in strong form with a 2-1 win over Alberta. Goals came from Sarah Baker and Athiei Achiek. The girls now have a 2-0 record.

On the boys side, Feildians U17 boys dropped a 4-0 decision to Alberta, and secured second place in their division.  They will play BC when the second round begins on Saturday.

And in Waterloo, Ontario, Feildians U15 boys dropped a 2-0 decision to Quebec. They finish third in their division in round 1. They will play Ontario as round two begins tomorrow

The girls, represented by CBS Kirby Group Strikers dropped a 2-0 decision to a strong Quebec team.

Five of the six teams will be in action on Saturday, October 7.  Feildians men have a rest day at the Challenge Cup.  Games will be livestreamed on Canada Soccer’s YouTube Channel.
